Donovan McNabb, Michael Vick, and Cancer

Donovan McNabb, Michael Vick, and Cancer

Donovan McNabb updates his blog for the first time in a while (almost a month) in order to show his cyber support for some friends.

If there was ever an entry worth coming out of the woodwork to write, this was it.

Donovan writes about Eagles defensive coordinator Jim Johnson's recent struggle with cancer -- melanoma that spread to other parts of his body including his spine:

My thoughts and prayers go out to Jim Johnson as he battles through another round of chemotherapy to deal with cancer. Jim is one of the toughest men I've come across and although he has a tough battle ahead, no one is going to fight harder.

Donovan's entry is called, "My Thoughts On a Couple of Friends."  Apparently, the second in the couple being Michael Vick.  Donovan writes:

I am happy that Michael Vick has served his time and will now be afforded the opportunity to move on with his life. I'm sure he will continue to be remorseful and will learn from his experiences. Hopefully he will have the opportunity to continue his dream of playing professional football.

Note to Donovan:  While we like that you're asserting your presence in the Jockosphere again, it's always a better move to keep personal messages to friends undergoing cancer treatment separate from the ones to friends who have recently been released from prison for torturing and killing dogs.  In the future, you might want to make those two different entries.
