He Said They Were High Class (But That Was Just A Lie)

Prior to the first Yankees-Red Sox games of the season at Fenway, Curt Schilling posted an entry to his blog about the benefits of playing at home during such a charged series.  He writes, "One of the perks of playing for the Red Sox, or the Yankees for that matter, is home field advantage. Home field advantage is ALL about the fans and the environment."

(True.  But another valuable lesson from this weekend's drubbing of the Bombers is that it is also an advantage to have a team that plays more effective baseball than the Bad News Bears.)

Curt implores Sox fans, "Boo the ever living hell out of the opponents, make it a hellish weekend, but do it with intelligence, class, dignity and style, it's funner that way."

In other words, it's not the booing itself but the ability to execute the booing with dignity that separates the Massholes from the classholes.

As part of his challenge, Curt reminds Bostonians that they're better than "the gang that sits behind the dugout in Yankee Stadium."  He tells them, "Be a Sox fan, have class."
