Bad News Travels Fast

Ashley Thompson, the self-proclaimed trophy wife -- married to Angels minor league reliever Rich Thompson -- is more somber than usual in her latest blog entry.

And with good reason.

Last night, her husband's teammate Nick Adenhart was killed in a hit and-run drunk driving accident.

For further evidence that conventional news outlets are becoming obsolete, Ashley first learned of the tragedy over twitter.

There is nothing, it seems, that can't be tweeted.

Ashley has added a link to her site for Mothers Against Drunk Driving in order to raise awareness about the issue.  She also writes, "I did not know Nick well, but the few times I was around him, his infectious sense of humor made me, and everyone else, smile."
