Two days, two mega trades. Yesterday, the Knicks acquired superstar Carmelo Anthony, and a day later watched the New Jersey Nets bring in star point guard Deron Williams. So- what does the rest of the NBA think about the major moves as the deadline approaches.
Chris Paul, who's rumored to want to play with Amar'e and Carmelo in New York, tweeted:
CONGRATS to @carmeloanthony and C Billups...happy for them and their families...NY jus got 2 special people and players!!!
First move...check. Second move...and tweet:
Utah traded DWill?? #EpicFail #notagoodlook #trippin #cmonson@MattMitnick
Paul also approves of the Nets acquisition, though the whole "Utah" and "EpicFail" hashtag can't be too easy to swallow for Jazz fans.
Carmelo was happy with the trade, tweeting:
Wow, just had the craziest 12 hours of my career. So much to say, but really want to thank all my fans and friends for their support !
You may notice that his twitter account still lists him as "Carmelo Anthony of the Denver Nuggets." Maybe social media isn't as fast as we thought.
Knicks shooting guard Roger Mason Jr. was surprised by the Nets move:
DWILL to Jersey is huge! I didn't see that one coming at all!
Nets forward Kris Humphries was happy with the events, tweeting:
Gonna miss you guys.
Welcome to the team Derron
Derron?
Welcome to the team Deron.
Welcome to the team Deron.
Spelling may not be Humphries thing, but we get it: he's a really welcoming guy.
So- what do you guys think of the trades? Who made out better- New York or New Jersey/future New York? Let us know in the comments.
