OH, THE MADNESS

March Madness is upon us, and it is undoubtedly living up to its name. With #1 overall seed Kansas ousted, the Big East in shambles, and mid-majors  dominating the competition , its safe to say all of our brackets are as red as Bill Self’s face and those Big Red jerseys of Sweet-16 bound Cornell.

Larry Fitzgerald summed it up best when he tweeted

Woooww… I know you guys’ bracket are all jacked up now huh

Of course Larry can say that in a joking manner, his Panthers are still in it. Fitzgerald tweeted his support

Congrats to PITT for advancing to the second round of the NCAA Tourney!!! Keep rolling fellas!!! #HAILTOPITT

Former Purdue standout and current Jets Tight End Dustin Keller also enjoyed a victory,  as his Boilermakers defeated Texas A&M to advance to the Sweet 16. He tweeted

Ever greatful ever true, thus we raise our song anew..of the days we spent with you All HAIL our own Purdue!!! Let's go Purdue..Dukes next!

However, some other athletes did not have as much luck this past weekend. Former Maryland Terrapin Shawne Merriman tweeted after his team went down on a buzzer beater

So mad abt my terps dammit going 2 play hoops & show em how its done & I'm sending video

Merriman went on to admit that football wasn’t his only athletic pursit at Maryland.

I remember I tried 2 play basketball at MD & my football coach said he wasn't having it...Ralph Friedgen smh

Lights Out on the basketball court…. Now that’s a frightening thought. As for Charlie Villanueva, well… his UCONN  Huskies are still alive, kind of.

Georgetown, Notre Dame out, and Uconn is still alive, NIT baby, lol

However, the former UCONN star showed his humility and gave some advice to Quincy Pondexter, Washington's star guard who has led his Huskies to the Sweet 16.

Gotta love veterans supporting the youngsters. Maybe Darnell Dockett should take a note from Charlie.
