JALEN ROSE, BY ANY OTHER NAME

Using his YouTube channel as an outlet, Jalen Rose took a few seconds to give us the story behind his unusual first name. Hint: It's a compound word involving Jimmy Walker. DYNOMITE!
While most of the story is pretty clear, I'm still kind of confused if he helped his mother to give birth, or if she did it as a favor to him. You'll see what I'm talking about.

So there ya have it. James + Lenard = Jalen. I guess he should be lucky he didn't end up Lames. (Lenard + James, for those of you that may be a bit slow.)
Sorry about the poetic title. Unless you didn't recognize that from Romeo and Juliet. Then shame on you, you illiterate bastards!

She (Ms. Jeannie) loved both men dearly and decided to make her first born sons name a derivation of both of these mens names. I think an article stated his Uncle drove her to the hospital when she was laboring with Mr. Rose....or he was very supportive of her throughout her life so she decided to make her sons name a derivation of his Uncle and Father.
I thought it was so sweet. My son was born at 12:22 pm the same day that my favorite brother was being buried. I made his name a derivation of his fathers and Uncles: Mark Anthony.
That, mi gentes, is admiration and love.
