Larry Johnson has a closed twitter account, but that didn't stop a few of his "private" tweets about how he feels about his coach (not a big fan) and KC Chiefs fans (not a big fan) and gays (apparently, not a big fan) from getting widespread distribution yesterday with gems like:
my father got more creditentials than most of these pro coaches. … google my father!!!!!!!
father played for the coach from “rememeber the titans”. Our coach played golf. My father played for redskins briefley. Our coach. Nuthn
It was a nice shot at Chief's first-year head coach, Todd Haley. But what really made Larry's twitter feed special with this exchange with one of his followers:
Jared Launius: Interesting comments by Larry Johnson ( @toonlcon ) about "coaches." Hey LJ, is it Haley's fault you fall when D-Linemen blow on you?
[LARRY] @jaredlaunius Sorry ur a cornball n ur mom birthed u broke. But I'm cakn patna. While u work or school for 5 dollas n hour. Ha!"
Ah, yes, the always popular "I make millions more than you" tweet from a professional athlete. Followed by this wonderful exchange:
Jared Launius: Apologies. His Twitter alias is @toonicon whatever the hell that means. Probably something about spitting in women's faces.
(The above, of course, being a literary allusion to Larry spitting a drink in the face of a woman at a nightclub, with the below being a continuation of their twitter "conversation".)
[LARRY] @jaredlaunius think bout a clever diss than that wit your fag pic. Christopher street boy. Is what us east coast cats call u.
Give Larry marks for consistency, as the above slur was in sync with Larry's same-day request at his locker for reporters to: "Get your faggot ass out."
And then, so as not to miss out on alienating all Chief fans (not just the gays), Larry drops the always pleasant, "I make a million times more than you" tweet.
Make me regret it. Lmao. U don’t stop my checks. Lmao. So “tweet” away.
It will be interesting to see what ATHLETES tweet and blog about this crap.
At the very least, we know Deadspin.com will be feasting off of this one all week. (At least.)
As for Commissioner Goodell, he thought the tweets worth $147,000, or one game check, and the suspension of Larry for one game.
Hey, why don't we all go over to Larry's twitter account, right now, and sign with a request to be able to receive tweets like the above more often.
