Tour de France champion Alberto Contador said Monday that he "has never had admiration" for Lance Armstrong and "never will," and the cycling legend isn't too happy about his former teammate's harsh words. He tweets:
Seeing these comments from AC. If I were him I'd drop this drivel and start thanking his team. w/o them, he doesn't win.
For the record, Armstrong was one of Contador's teammates in this past Tour de France. So by "without them," he means "without me." Yet the Twitter onslaught doesn't stop there:
hey pistolero, there is no "i" in "team". what did i say in March? Lots to learn. Restated.
I guess that gets the message across then: no "I" in team. The group before the individual.
Which begs the question: Lance, where were you when the rest of your team was out to dinner celebrating Contador's victory Sunday night?
