Yesterday, The Magic descended upon the City of Angels, and Dwight Howard couldn't be more excited:
L.A. is normally crazy enough, but now it has the Finals going on too. And we're a part of it, baby!!!
Excitement notwithstanding, come game time, the Magic will be ready to play:
I think we're all pretty focused on the job that we have to do and we're just ready for the game to start. But you know me, I had to try and lighten the mood and keep dudes cracking up.
Naturally.
Earlier on in the playoffs, Dwight wrote that he thought it was "totally disrespectful" that the Cavs and Lakers were being so heavily favored by the media. LeBron and Kobe were starting to seem just a little too much like the Marsha to Dwight's Jan. Dwight challenges the world to underestimate them now.
Maybe now we'll start getting some of the respect that we deserve. Maybe people will start seeing that we're for real and can win this title. We've already beaten two teams with 60 wins, and if we can beat the Lakers in the Finals it would be three. Somebody told me the yesterday that would be the first time that's ever happened in the NBA. That's would be pretty cool to do, huh???
It would be, as emphasized by the quantity of question marks.
And in order to make this happen, Dwight has made a pretty serious commitment to both himself and his fans -- he's going to be twitter-free for the duration.
OK ya'll, I gotta run for now. I made a vow that I'm keeping my phone turned off during the Finals because I'm going to stay focused. It's my Twitter-rehab, I guess.
Dwight, should you need a support group to aid you with this effort, Brian Wilson would probably be game.
