Trophy Wife (cont.)
Ashley Thompson's "Everyday Life" journal about life as the wife of a sometimes major league, sometimes minor league pitcher, Rich Thompson, continues to be a interesting read. Last week Rich was called up to the Los Angeles Angels of Anaheim for a cup of coffee before being sent back down to the Salt Lake Bees, and Ashley writes about it in "Time to regroup...":
"They are making so many roster moves, I can't remember who's up, down or around. I'm still curious to why they're making all of these sudden adjustments instead of calming down until the starters are healthy again. This is the part of baseball that I just don't understand....
"I think Rich may be just as confused as I am. Things aren't being put forth very clearly right now. It's all a big scramble and everyone is just trying to stay afloat. The good news is that friends of ours are getting their debuts! We couldn't be more excited for them........ well, I guess we'd be more excited if we were still in Anaheim. :-)~ All we can do now is focus on what's right in front of us. For Rich that's perfecting yet another pitch...."
